About the terminal
Project scope and data coverage
MundialDB (World Cup Database) is a data terminal that catalogues every FIFA World Cup edition since 1930, covering competing national teams, individual matches, stadiums, and the expanded 2026 tournament. The interface is modelled on financial and sports-data terminals — facts surfaced through tables, ladders, and timelines, without subjective commentary.
Scope
The database covers 23 editions of the senior men's World Cup from 1930 to 2026, including match-level results, national-team rosters, stadiums, and coaching records. For the 2026 edition, it carries the full fixture list and the latest published squads per team; live results are updated as the tournament progresses. Qualifiers, the FIFA Women's World Cup, and youth tournaments are out of scope.
Data sources
Data here has been compiled personally over time from a range of third-party and public data resources, alongside publicly available match records. FIFA rankings are taken from the official FIFA/Coca-Cola Men's World Ranking published by FIFA; Elo ratings and rankings are sourced from World Football Elo Ratings.
Update cadence
Historical editions are treated as a static archive and are only revised when a factual error is identified. The 2026 World Cup — fixtures, squads, market values — is refreshed on a rolling basis through the tournament; squads are updated as managers announce them. See the footer's "Data current as of" stamp for the precise revision date.
